About this paper

A morning room,
in paper.

Gulbagh (गुलबाग़ / گلباغ) translates to "flower garden" in Persian and Urdu — gul meaning flower, bagh meaning garden. It evokes the legendary Mughal pleasure gardens of Lahore, Kashmir, and Agra, where emperors commissioned paradises of tulips, lilies, and lotuses bordered by ornate pavilions. Paired with Heritage, the name positions the wallpaper as a living artifact — a piece of cultural memory translated onto modern walls.

Step into the timeless serenity of a Mughal garden with Gulbagh Heritage — a luxury wallpaper that captures the romance of royal courtyards and the quiet sophistication of contemporary design.

The composition is built in two graceful registers. Above, a tall cabana of softly hand-painted stripes in misty dove-grey and warm parchment cream lends architectural rhythm and a sense of soaring height. Below, an ornamental dado unfolds in a procession of arched mehrab panels, each framing a stylised tulip-and-lotus motif drawn from 17th-century Mughal miniature traditions. A delicate floral vine border weaves the two halves together with effortless grace.

Rendered in a palette of antique ivory, dusty rose, sage, powdery mauve, and faded indigo, every motif carries the gentle patina of an heirloom fresco — as if discovered on the walls of a Rajasthani haveli and lovingly preserved.

Lived with it for six months - the ochre warms beautifully in evening light. Worth the wait.

The hand-blocked variation is what makes it; you can see the paint move. We ordered two extra rolls just to keep.

Specced this for a client and it instantly became the room. The paper-hanger commented unprompted.

Our craft

Drawn by hand,
printed slowly.

Every motif begins as a sketch in the studio archive - a 1908 textile, a Mughal miniature, a north-light morning. We commission artists, hand-block proofs, then print to order in small runs of fifty.

No mass production. No predicting trends. Just the slow assembly of papers worth living with.
